Great post on reading.
I have bee...Hello Nicole,

Great post on reading.

I have been blind for just about three years now and have several devices which let me read. I can scan books with my Intel Reader, Play a CD Book on my personal CD player or computer, download an MP3 file book on my MP3 player or listen on my Kindle e-readers, I have two of those a Kindle DX and Kindle Touch.

My favorite method to read, is my Kindle Touch, it is small enough to fit in a coat pocket and with ear buds sounds pretty good, especially the male voice setting, the female does have that clunky computer sound that you talk about. I use the DX mostly at home it is on my desk next to the computer.

Second favorite are CD's and MP3 books along with a reader from my local blind library. I like those mostly for fiction books the readers dramatic reading is much easier to hear over the computer versions.

I use an Intel Reader for textbooks, this machine requires quite a bit of work to read, scanning pages and such. I used it alot in the past to help me read textbooks while studying for me BA. I use it now to read newspapers and other material that is not available readily in either the kindle or CD/MP3/DAISY versions.

All the best

WilliamWilliam Elliotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09354385239634757529noreply@blogger.com
